Random rant
Feeling a bit down today. I’m all bloated and my muscles hurt. Also, I
went to sleep at midnight Monday and 1am yesterday - just to wake up at
6am to work a bit. To top it all off it’s raining like hell and the
temperature dropped like 10 degrees overnight. Grrreat.
I wanted to go to the gym today, to a course called Bodybalance. It’s so nice and relaxing and still very efficient (efficace? I’m too lazy to check words on dictionary today :D) - hence the hurting muscles. But I’m working until 6pm and I still have a lot of work to do at home so I think I will have to leave it to another time. It will be another night spent in front of my computer, trying to find a comfortable position to work (but not too comfortable to fall asleep in the middle).
So, nothing exciting is going on in my life, as usual. I’m not feeling very inspired to write, as if you wanted to hear again and again how boring everything is. (and right as I was typing this, my Italian colleagues put some traditional music on and started to dance. guess I’m not the only one bored here)

On days like this I really crave colour. And yet I find myself dressed in different shades of grey and navy blue with some touches of brown. Y-A-W-N. I sort of envy my sister who can wear all the colours of the rainbow in the very same outfit. I don’t envy her choice of clothing, I could wear same sort of combos but I choose not to. But I envy the way she doesn’t care how ridiculous someone might think she is. I care too much…
But also I find that in France the choice is very limited. In the summer you can find bright colours and pretty patterns but come october and everyone starts wearing black, grey and brown. What’s the logic? Now that it’s either grey or black outside, why not brighten up with some colour…? I need to work on this one.

One morning in Dole we woke up to this weird noise and went to the window, unable to identify the source. In about a minute we saw a hot-air balloon that rose from some nearby location to the bright blue sky. It was so pretty… Now Maxime is talking about a balloon ride (two weeks ago it was paragliding, what’s next?)

Aate aito
This is what the weekend looked like. We had planned about an hour of games outside with the guides……… It went well in the end, better than I had expected. The girls are so sweet (in their own, noisy and bordellique way) and excited about having two foreign leaders.
I’m half super excited and half anxious about this year. I feel there are so many things to think about that I should pretty much quit my job to be able to handle it all. But I decided it doesn’t have to be that perfect. We will have a good year which does not include me getting burnout :)
Sunday there was a trainig for all the new leaders. From 8:30am until 6pm in this freezing cold room. One of the trainers was driving me crazy, he was so… falsely perky. And noisy. And annoying. Otherwise the day was ok, I guess, even though I couldn’t help feeling I was wasting my time there. At least I have some qualification to be scout leader in France now (can’t remember what the nomination was, though…)
Now, good night everyone ! I will continue my evening procrastinating instead of sending e-mails to the parents of my guides or searching for covoiturage to go see mon mec this weekend - or anything productive whatsoever. I should and I could but I DON’T CARE. :)

Ja niin saapui syys
Autumn is here, this time for good I think. It’s hard to believe last weekend we were walking around in t-shirts - now I’m very happy to wrap myself up in sweaters and scarves and get energy kicks from riding my bike in crisp morning air that makes my cheeks turn pink ! I also love the sort of gloomy light in the evening and the dark rainy nights such as yesterday, when the mountains dissapear into clouds and fog… It’s such a cliché but it makes me shiver pleasantly looking outside into the cold rain and crawling up on my bed with a warm, purring cat right next to me. I love autumn <3
There are some less pleasant sides in autumn / winter, though. I bought 2 kilos of apples today (…) and realized afterwards that my last winter’s apple allergy has come back. I don’t get it. Why do I only get rash from apples when it’s cold outside ? Oh well. I’ll have to content myself with the beautiful kakis I just bought at my favourite fruit and veggie store. It’s the season. The guy in the store is so passionate about his products, he always makes me smile :) You know, the way the veggie guy in Amélie Poulain ?
These two last pics are from Finland, from about a year ago. That’s absurd. (also the other photos are from last autumn in Finland, here we don’t have those beautiful colours yet)
I’m going to attack my kakis now and prepare myself mentally to this weekend of intense scouting. Have a sweet weekend everyone <3

Early bird
Vau. Lisäksi seuraavasta deadlinesta ei ole tietoakaan, hääääärligt!
Nähdään illalla moi!
